AGE

This publication is aimed at women in their 20's... As stated on Hearst's website: "Company encapsulates all that is important for women in their 20’s - the cool friend everyone wants to have. Keeping young women up to date, on trend & in the know across a number of platforms including Company magazine, recently relaunched www.company.co.uk and the biannual fashion essential Company High Street Edit."

The website sticks to its target audience well. With various different sections such as sex and relationship advice, style tips and online advice, which is what young women want to read. However, incorporating games and chat rooms into their site suggests they are attracting younger readers, as not many women in their 20's have time or will take time out of their day to play games or talk to random readers.

Company's self written user profile explains who the aimed 'Company girl' is: "The internet was invented for shopping & socialising for these girls. They could not imagine life without Facebook - it's how they keep in touch with all their friends & family. They can’t live without their weekly online shopping fix whether it’s buying the latest fashion must -haves or being the first of her friends to download the next big thing on i-tunes. She booked everything for her last holiday to Ibiza with the girls online including flights, hotels and researched the coolest clubs on the island. And in the unlikely event she forgets to Sky + Eastenders, she’s straight onto BBC iplayer. For these girls a world without asos.com, catch up TV, Trip Advisor, Google Maps, moneysavingexpert.com and of course company.co.uk is unimaginable..."

They are stressing the importance of the online media in their readers life, pushing the online platform in a big way, potentially suggesting that in the future, the online source may be the only option for Company readers.
